What to expect

We know how daunting visiting somewhere for the first time can be, but we'll do everything we can to make it as comfortable as possible for you and your family. Read below about where we meet, how to get here, what to expect and how make the most of the day.

Our Hatfield location

We meet Sundays in Hatfield at 10am, 11.45am & 4pm. Doors open 30 minutes before each service when refreshments are served. Occasionally our service times change so it's always best to double check the calendar for any changes before your visit.

How to find us

We are really easy to find. We meet Sundays in Hatfield at The Forum Hertfordshire, just off junction 3 on the A1. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Roehyde Way/A1001 and then the 2nd left onto Broad Way.

Free parking

Parking is FREE all day on site in the multi-story carpark.

We'll be expecting you

As you arrive you'll notice our team in red t-shirts. They'll be able to answer any questions and direct you to the main auditorium where our services take place.

Fun for kids

We provide action-packed, fun and faith-filled, age-specific programmes for children aged 1-10yrs old as well as a parenting area for those with babies. When you arrive on Sunday our volunteers will be waiting to meet you and escort you to the Kids check-in desk. See you soon!

Parenting zone

We have a designated parenting zone so you can enjoy the service whilst attending to your babies. Situated on the top floor, the parenting area is accessible via the lift in the foyer.

Age specific groups

Little Heroes - Age 1-4

Super Heroes - Reception & Years 1 & 2

Mighty Heroes - School Years 3-6

Check-in

On your first visit we need the following personal information: parent/legal guardian names, children’s names and birthdates, address, phone number and any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for each child. This information is entered into our database to help maintain our secure check-in system.

Safe & fun

Your child’s safety is our first priority. All Home Church volunteers undertake a thorough application process and pass the appropriate DBS check to ensure your child’s safety. We require that you are present with your child for check-in and pick-up so please make your way to the desk upon arrival and following the service.

Come on in

Doors to our welcome foyer open 30 minutes before each service when refreshments are served. It's a great opportunity to meet people and enjoy a drink before the service.

A moment to say hi

Our welcome foyer is the perfect place to say a quick hi and make yourself feel at home. There's always lots happening with friendly faces everywhere, so we encourage you to come early, take your time and enjoy the refreshments.

Ask questions

On your first visit you may have questions about Home Church, midweek groups or activites for young people. Our amazing team are easily identifiable in their black ASK ME t-shirts ready to help in any way they can.

Youth zone

If you're coming with teenage children, then head over to our youth hangout area where you can meet our youth leaders. They'll help your kids meet new friends and tell them more about what's happening for young people at Home Church.

Worship with us

Our service's are 1 hour 15 minutes in duration, lively, fun and inspiring.

Passionate worship

Worship at Home Church is contemporary in style and led by our creative team. Early in our time of praise and worship (often after the second song) the children are invited to go to Kids Church. At this time, parents should take their children to the age specific rooms then join us again for worship.

Encouraging message

Our preaching is engaging, relevant and encouraging. We typically enjoy 30 minutes of preaching from one of our leaders, with occasional guest speakers too.

Youth & young adults

Youth and young adults love Sunday services at Home Church, playing an active part, sitting and worshipping together. The messages are easy for youth and young adults to engage with and will inspire them in their walk with Jesus.

During the services

Every Sunday is an exciting time for us. We encourage you to view our online calendar and browse the highlights that are coming up soon. Here are a few more things you can expect to happening during our Sunday services...

Prayer

We are a praying church and take a moment in our services to pray corporately for the needs of those who have asked for prayer. When you arrive for church you'll find red prayer cards available for you to write down your prayer needs. If you'd like prayer when you visit, let us know by filling in the card and handing it to one of our team. We can pray for you when you visit, call you during the week or simply ask our team to keep you in prayer.

Giving

We are a generous church and always take time to give everyone opportunity to contribute if they would like to. You can give during the service when prompted using the envelopes provided or alternatively by using your smart phone to give electronically.

Communion

We love talking about what Jesus did on the cross for us and share communion one Sunday every month. You will be given a communion cup as you take your seat for the service.
